Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to take on the role of Service Manager within our Musculo-skeletal, Breast, Plastic and Therapies Clinical Service Unit (CSU). This position is ideal for someone who is committed to collaborating with specialty leads, clinical staff, nursing teams, and senior administrators to ensure the provision of safe, effective, and timely care while supporting our financial, strategic, and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing operational leadership and support across various specialties.
  • Overseeing the performance and development of administrative and clerical personnel.
  • Ensuring that services are delivered within budget and adhere to established quality standards.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of services to meet patient needs and adapt to changing demands.
  • Collaborating with CSU staff and senior management to achieve CSU and Trust-wide objectives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in middle management.
  • Background in managing multi-disciplinary teams with formal management training.
  • Demonstrated operational management experience in a multi-professional setting.
  • Experience in people management, including recruitment, retention, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with budget management and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills for complex information analysis to inform business and workforce decisions.
  • Experience in operational and strategic planning, including project development and change management.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a complex, publicly regulated organization.
  • NHS management experience with a focus on patient pathways and governance assurance.
