About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled VAT Consultant to join our team at Buzzacott. As a VAT Consultant, you will play a key role in providing expert advice on VAT matters to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex VAT returns and annual adjustments for clients with partial exemption and business/non-business apportionment.
  • Prepare voluntary declarations for VAT and undertake VAT health checks on client activities.
  • Advise on liability queries, including VAT treatment of transactions and place of supply of services.
  • Provide guidance on property issues, such as new builds, building works, and capital goods scheme.
  • Respond to ad hoc questions from clients and team members on a wide range of VAT issues.
  • Contribute to VAT team publications and undertake training for clients and staff.
  • Identify potential sources of work from existing and potential new clients and consider cross-selling opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with client advisors, such as lawyers.
Requirements
  • Hold CTA and/or AIIT part qualified, qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Have experience of providing planning and structuring VAT advice on transactions.
  • Have experience of dealing with the wide variety of VAT issues faced by clients in the corporate sector.
  • Be able to work well with team members and communicate complex issues clearly.
  • Have a positive and practical attitude and be approachable and willing to support other team members.
