Senior Business Analyst

A distinguished financial services organization is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to facilitate the execution of essential products, systems, processes, and related business initiatives. The selected Senior Business Analyst will possess robust skills in RAID, requirements elicitation processes, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence, with a preference for familiarity with Azure DevOps environments.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for the chosen candidate to engage in modernization efforts as our client transitions to a cloud-first architecture within a scaled Agile framework. The organization offers a competitive salary package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing discovery analysis to assess the challenges or opportunities within the competitive landscape, business process framework, and existing IT and data solutions.
  • Assisting in business decision-making by identifying and evaluating potential solution options.
  • Identifying and managing stakeholders to encompass a diverse range of perspectives and optimize the change journey with effective communication and thorough planning.
  • Conducting the elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and verification of business requirements for the chosen solution, addressing both functional and non-functional aspects. This may involve creating various artifacts such as Journey models, Use Case diagrams, and Business Process models (utilizing BPMN notation) to provide clarity and context for business and technical teams.
  • Delivering requirements traceability aligned with the change initiative, from desired business outcomes through to requirements, software development, and acceptance testing.
  • Supporting defined changes through to benefit realization, including project change evaluation and implementation, RAID identification, specification and mitigation, and resolution of testing defects relevant to service definition and implementation support.

Essential Skills:

  • Prior experience as a Senior Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst within the Financial Services sector is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in customer journey mapping, process modeling, data modeling, test defect triage, stakeholder management, and traceability matrices is essential.
  • Experience with on-premises to cloud transformation initiatives is critical.
  • Proven knowledge in requirements elicitation, RAID identification, and senior stakeholder engagement is vital.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as IIBA's CBAP or BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis are advantageous.
