Senior Business Analyst

A distinguished financial services organization is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to facilitate the execution of essential products, systems, processes, and related business initiatives. The selected Senior Business Analyst will possess robust skills in RAID, requirements elicitation processes, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence, with a preference for familiarity with Azure DevOps environments.

This role presents an exciting opportunity where the chosen candidate will engage in modernization efforts as the organization transitions to a cloud-first architecture within a scaled Agile framework. The position offers a competitive salary package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing discovery analysis to assess the challenges or opportunities within the competitive landscape, business process framework, and existing IT and data solutions.
  • Assisting in business decision-making by identifying and evaluating potential solution options.
  • Identifying and managing stakeholders to encompass a diverse range of perspectives and to enhance the change journey through effective communication and proactive planning.
  • Conducting the elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and verification of business requirements for the chosen solution, covering both functional and non-functional aspects. Requirements elaboration may involve various artifacts such as Journey models, Use Case diagrams, and Business Process models (utilizing BPMN notation) to provide clarity and context for business and technical teams.
  • Delivering requirements traceability relevant to the change initiative, typically from desired business outcomes through to requirements, software development, and acceptance testing.
  • Supporting defined changes through to benefit realization, including project change evaluation and implementation; RAID identification, specification, and mitigation; and resolution of defects arising from testing as necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • Prior experience as a Senior Business Analyst or Lead Business Analyst within the Financial Services sector is preferred.
  • Strong expertise in customer journey mapping, process modeling, data modeling, test defect triage, stakeholder management, and traceability matrices is crucial.
  • Experience with on-premises to cloud transformation initiatives is essential.
  • Demonstrable skills in requirements elicitation, RAID identification, and senior stakeholder engagement are critical.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications such as IIBA's CBAP or BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis are advantageous.
