About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Improving Attendance Team at Leicestershire County Council. The successful candidate will work with children and young people, their families, and educators to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct holistic assessments and develop plans to support children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
  • Work in partnership with families, educators, and other agencies to deliver interventions and coaching.
  • Use evidence-based skills to support children and young people in managing their mental health and improving attendance.
  • Deliver training to education staff and partner agencies on mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work flexibly in a range of settings, including schools, community hubs, and client homes.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience of working with children and young people and their families.
  • Ability to work in partnership with educators and other agencies.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
  • DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity.
