Job Description:

The Gi Group is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Practitioner to join our team. As an Occupational Health Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in promoting and supporting the health and wellbeing of our employees.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct occupational health surveillance and health screening to ensure employees are fit for work.
  • Provide health promotion advice and guidance to maintain a healthy and productive workforce.
  • Work with the HR team to support employees returning to work after a period of absence.
  • Organize and conduct health surveillance assessments in conjunction with health and safety requirements.
  • Identify health trends within the organization and develop initiatives to prevent ill health and absence.
  • Lead and participate in groups that promote health and wellbeing, including mental health first aiders.
  • Work with the health and safety team to improve first aid provision and increase the skills and confidence of first aiders.
  • Organize and promote health initiatives, such as flu vaccination drives and immunization services.
  • Refer employees to external support agencies and services as needed.
  • Develop and lead health promotion and education initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an occupational health position outside of a hospital environment.
  • Experience in a medical role.
  • Recognized occupational health qualification.
  • Registered nursing qualification.
  • Knowledge of current occupational health best practice.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working.
  • Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner.
