About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing sales and gross profit within a set group of customers, including well-known fast food and restaurant brands, as well as other foodservice companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with our Business Development team and prospects to understand the business won and facilitate a smooth onboarding process.
  • Account Management: Become the primary customer contact point through the launch phase and manage these new customers as their internal point of contact ongoing.
  • Forecasting and Analysis: Understand customer basket spend and our share of that, ensuring forecasts are in place for products we supply and are regularly reviewed.
  • Order Processing: Assist customers with all enquiries for products, prices, samples, and information, processing orders and forwarding to customer service for delivery as needed.
  • Complaint Resolution: Field complaints and compliance queries through Quality Control.
  • Margin Improvement: Maintain and improve margins through product swap outs, cost reductions, and price increases.
Requirements
  • Drive and Passion: Drive and passion for results with a focus on outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Self-starter who is confident in communicating via phone, email, and in meetings.
  • Teamwork and Time Management: Ability to work effectively in a team with good time and project/task management skills.
  • Solution-Focused: A solution finder who can quickly adapt and is open to always learning.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the Foodservice market or packaging is preferred but not essential.
  • CRM Experience: Experience in the use of Pipedrive or a similar CRM system.
  • Education and Skills: Literate (Grade C GCSE minimum) and numerate with analytical skills (Grade C GCSE Maths minimum).
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Comfortable user of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc).
