Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Advisor to join our team at Signature Rail Limited. As an HR Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing expert guidance and support to our line managers and employees on all matters related to HR.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Support
    • Provide guidance and advice to line managers on HR-related matters, including terms and conditions, absence, performance, employee relations, and flexible working requests.
    • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements, with clear audit trails and maintain all personnel records in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Investigations and Disciplinary Hearings
    • Offer advice and support on investigations, disciplinary, and grievance hearings within policy.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding
    • Support with recruitment needs and work with the talent partner.
    • Schedule GDPR induction and probation reviews, provide HR Inductions as part of the onboarding process.
    • Ensure new starters are added to all systems, including HR and Payroll systems, and added to the Payroll process.
  • Benefits and Administration
    • Maintain all benefit policies for the business unit, including adding new starters, lapsing leavers, checking invoices before sending for approval, managing renewal processes, managing claims, and providing data for annual travel insurance renewal.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Communicate policies, assist with any queries, and ensure all relevant paperwork is produced.
    • Manage the talent management program for your business unit.
    • Support the development of staff, manage training plans, liaise with training providers for appropriate training courses.
    • Provide quarterly HR reports on recruitment, retention, and key trends within the business.
  • Office Administration
    • Perform office admin duties as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within an HR Specialist/Advisor role.
  • Experience using Workday or similar HRIS.
  • Essential working knowledge of employment legislation and HR procedures and policies.
  • Ability to contribute to large projects with changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills, comfortable interacting and motivating personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel both domestically and internationally, e.g., to attend collaboration events.
