One position is permanent, while the other is a fixed-term contract.

Our Combination Product & Device (CPD) R&D team specializes in the design and development of needle-based injection devices tailored for the delivery of our Small Molecule medications. Our extensive portfolio includes a variety of device technologies such as Pre-Filled Syringes (PFS), pen injectors, and autoinjectors, aimed at treating diverse medical conditions, including anaphylaxis, migraine, and diabetes.

A Day in the Life of a Device Scientist

In this role, you will provide essential laboratory and project support for both new and existing product development within the Combination Product and Device R&D Team.

Your responsibilities will include conducting and documenting laboratory experiments, ensuring that project timelines and shelf-life reporting milestones are met in accordance with cGxP, HSE, and regulatory standards.

You will also manage sample logistics, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute laboratory tests to generate reliable and precise data for scientific investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory guidelines in all work activities.
  • Manage and operate standard laboratory equipment, including tensile/torsional force testers, microscopes, and balances.
  • Record and analyze results for presentation to senior team members.
  • Utilize computer software for data analysis and graphical representation of results.
  • Stay informed about technical advancements that can enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct research on relevant topics to support ongoing projects.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and conduct safety checks.
  • Create and maintain laboratory documentation and processes.
  • Support multiple projects across various device platforms.

Who We Are Looking For

Do you possess?

  • Experience in a laboratory environment within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry, with a relevant degree being advantageous but not essential.
  • The ability to analyze and interpret data, compile reports, and summarize findings.
  • Knowledge of cGMP/GLP practices.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment management and calibration.
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques, such as t-tests and Gauge R&R.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • The capability to complete tasks independently and on time.
  • Experience in leading projects to successful completion.
  • An adaptable mindset with high standards of work quality.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
