Our Combination Product & Device (CPD) R&D team specializes in the development of needle-based injection devices for the delivery of our Small Molecule medications. Our extensive portfolio includes various device technologies such as Pre-Filled Syringes (PFS), pen injectors, and autoinjectors, addressing a wide range of medical conditions, including anaphylaxis, migraine, and diabetes.
A Day in the Life of a Device Scientist
In this role, you will provide essential laboratory and project support for both new and existing products within the Combination Product and Device R&D Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and documenting laboratory experiments to ensure project milestones are met in compliance with cGxP, HSE, and regulatory standards.
- Managing sample logistics and the calibration/service of laboratory equipment, contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
- Planning and executing laboratory tests to generate reliable data for scientific investigations.
- Maintaining compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Operating standard laboratory equipment, including tensile/torsional force testers, microscopes, and balances.
- Recording and analyzing results for presentation to senior colleagues.
- Utilizing computer software for statistical analysis and data presentation.
- Staying updated with technical advancements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Conducting research on relevant topics to support ongoing projects.
- Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and conducting safety checks.
- Developing and maintaining laboratory documentation and processes.
- Supporting multiple projects across various device platforms.
Who We Are Looking For
We seek candidates who possess:
- Experience in a Medical Device or Pharmaceutical laboratory environment, with a relevant degree being advantageous but not essential.
- The ability to analyze and interpret data, compile reports, and summarize findings.
- Knowledge of cGMP/GLP standards.
- Experience with laboratory equipment management and calibration.
- Familiarity with statistical techniques, such as t-tests and Gauge R&R.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Experience in leading projects to successful completion.
- An adaptable approach with high standards of work quality.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
