About the Role

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Secretary Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Secretary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to our consultant and associated team within the General Surgery Team.

Main Responsibilities

Assist the Medical Secretary within the General Surgery Team by providing direct support within the consultant and nursing colorectal teams.

Typing and audio typing of clinical correspondence, managing Consultant's diaries, prioritizing results, organizing clinical activity, and liaising with patients, GPs, and outside Health Boards to provide treatment and care.

Carry out routine office tasks, such as photocopying, scanning, filing, shredding, distribution of documents, and processing information of a sensitive and confidential basis.

Request patient notes as required for complaints and serious incidents.

Adhere to University Health Board policies and procedures.

Open, sort, and circulate mail to appropriate members of staff, ensuring all mail is dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.

Receive all incoming internal and external calls, dealing with them if able or diverting to appropriate personnel.

Manage electronic diary and arrange any meetings if appropriate.
