Job Overview

The Planned Care Directorate is seeking to recruit a motivated and qualified Medical Administrative Assistant to provide essential support to the Colorectal team. This position is permanent and entails a full-time commitment.

The primary objective of this role is to deliver comprehensive administrative assistance to the Consultant, Nursing team, and Medical Secretary. Responsibilities will encompass transcribing medical documents, audio typing, sorting correspondence, retrieving patient medical records, managing patient pathways, and addressing inquiries from patients, relatives, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional typing, communication, and organizational skills. The ability to work independently while also being a collaborative team member is essential.

Previous experience within the NHS, particularly with WPAS, is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support to the Consultant, doctors, and other professionals within the Colorectal/General Surgery departments. They will be expected to interact professionally with colleagues, visitors, and patients while performing a wide range of administrative and secretarial tasks.

The individual will be responsible for managing and prioritizing their workload effectively, utilizing their experience and initiative.

While the ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable, it is not a requirement for this position.
