About the Role

Pioneering People is seeking a highly experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive health and safety strategy that aligns with our company values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Deliver a 3-Year Health, Safety, and Environmental Strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Design and deliver health and safety training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, COSHH assessments, and risk assessments to ensure a proactive approach to health and safety.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a site-wide health and well-being program, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on best practices in health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Investigate incidents and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including RIDDOR.
  • Develop and implement a monthly senior manager's reporting pack to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Manage the monthly health and safety committee, ensuring all actions are implemented and progress is monitored.
  • Ensure strict adherence to 3rd-party permit-to-work and contractor guidance.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement a health and safety training program for production and warehouse employees.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a health and safety manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Level 3 or above Health and Safety practitioner certification (e.g., NEBOSH General Safety Certificate).
  • Environmental qualification.
  • Health and safety experience at a supervisory level.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively in a close-knit team.
