Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual to join our team as an IT Asset Management Expert. This position is ideal for someone who thrives both independently and collaboratively, contributing to the enhancement of our IT asset management strategies.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the current team member to ensure the smooth execution of daily operations related to hardware and software asset management. Responsibilities include monitoring and auditing hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with disposal regulations, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining an optimal licensing position for all software agreements.

As an IT Asset Management Expert, you will play a crucial role in elevating the maturity of the ITAM function. Working closely with the IT Service Manager, you will assess existing processes to pinpoint areas for enhancement and assist in implementing effective asset management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from acquisition to retirement or disposal.
  • Monitor software licenses to ensure adherence to vendor agreements and optimize usage to minimize expenses.
  • Conduct regular audits to confirm the accuracy of asset inventories and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze asset utilization patterns to identify opportunities for resource optimization and cost reduction without sacrificing performance.
  • Continuously review existing Asset Management processes to identify improvement opportunities, ensuring that enhancement initiatives are planned and executed.
  • Promote better practices and a culture of ITAM across the organization by integrating it into all relevant processes, including onboarding, offboarding, procurement, and project management.
  • Collaborate with cost center managers to forecast budget needs based on current spending and anticipated future costs.
  • Assist the IT Service Manager with supplier management tasks, such as participating in supplier service meetings and preparing performance reports.

  • Prior experience in an IT Asset Management role or similar capacity.
  • Understanding of the hardware asset lifecycle from request to disposal.
  • Experience in interpreting licensing agreements, purchase orders, and service contracts.
  • Knowledge of software management practices to ensure optimal usage and compliance with licensing terms.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software asset management tools or systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
  • ITIL V3/4 certification is desirable.
