About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate leader to join our team as Deputy Headteacher with SENCO responsibility. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the SEND provision at Stannard School.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the SEND provision, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met and that students receive high-quality, inclusive education.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a therapeutic approach to behaviour and emotional well-being, working closely with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning, with a focus on inclusion and differentiated instruction for SEND students.
  • Manage and support staff teams, fostering a culture of cooperation, flexibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with other leaders within the Polaris community to share best practices and ensure alignment with our ethos.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND.
  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and complex needs such as Autism, ADHD, and FASD.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams with a compassionate, therapeutic approach.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work inclusively with staff, students, and families.
  • A proactive, adaptable attitude, able to set up new systems and processes aligned with the school's values and ethos.
