Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability division for a Service Manager to oversee our Alarm Receiving Centre on a permanent basis.

NRS integrates a variety of operational, technical, and developmental services provided by Glasgow City Council, focusing on sustainable transportation, urban development, and the delivery of essential municipal services.

Position Summary

Our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) is recognized as a National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold Accredited CAT II ARC.

In recent years, the ARC has managed over 6,000 alarm activations, handled approximately 70,000 calls, and achieved a response rate of 96% for intruder alarms within 90 seconds, alongside a 99% response rate for fire alarms within 30 seconds.

The Service Manager role encompasses the development and management of personnel, as well as supervising the daily operations of the ARC to ensure the provision of a high-quality service that aligns with the ethos, values, protocols, and service standards upheld by the Council.

It is important to note that as part of the pre-employment verification process, the successful candidate will be required to undergo BS Security Screening. This screening will be conducted in addition to the Council's standard pre-employment checks, which will be detailed to the successful candidate(s) following the interview process.


Contract Information

Weekly Hours: 35

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Annual Salary:
£41,000 - £47,000 on an incremental scale
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this position.
