Position Overview

Capital Markets Recruitment is seeking a skilled Systems Operations Specialist to join a prominent Quantitative Hedge Fund. This role is essential for the support and maintenance of third-party systems and trading applications.

As a key player in enhancing the firm's trading infrastructure, you will collaborate with a talented team of Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Developers, contributing to the optimization of trading systems and processes.

This position offers the chance to be part of a leading hedge fund, working in a hybrid environment while enjoying competitive compensation packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee system performance and address any technical issues that arise.
  • Engage with external vendors to resolve technical challenges and facilitate system enhancements.
  • Develop and implement automation tools and scripts to streamline operations.
  • Contribute to the establishment and application of DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in system upgrades and migrations to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role within the financial sector, particularly in hedge funds or asset management.
  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and service level agreements.
  • Expertise in administering third-party vendor systems, including trading platforms and risk management systems. Familiarity with Orchestrade, Geneva, or Tradeweb is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Understanding of configuration management tools, with Ansible being preferred.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technical teams, traders, portfolio managers, and vendors.
