Position Overview

Capital Markets Recruitment is seeking a skilled Systems Operations Specialist to join a prominent Quantitative Hedge Fund. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective management and support of third-party systems and trading applications.

This position offers a unique chance to enhance the efficiency of the firm's trading operations while collaborating with a team of highly skilled Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Developers.

As part of one of the leading hedge funds globally, you will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment and receive competitive compensation packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee system performance and address any technical issues that arise.
  • Engage with external vendors to resolve technical challenges and facilitate system enhancements.
  • Develop and implement automation tools and scripts to streamline processes.
  • Contribute to the establishment and application of DevOps best practices.
  • Participate in system upgrades and transitions.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and protocols.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable role within the financial sector, ideally in hedge funds or asset management.
  • Proven experience in managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing service level agreements.
  • Expertise in administering third-party vendor systems, including trading platforms and risk management systems. Familiarity with Orchestrade, Geneva, or Tradeweb is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Understanding of configuration management tools, with Ansible being preferred.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with technical teams, traders, portfolio managers, and vendors.
