Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Possession Planner to join our team at AmcoGiffen. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating access to our rail and civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with project management teams to ensure smooth access planning and execution.
  • Work closely with construction management and estimating teams to identify optimal possession opportunities and maintain project timelines.
  • Prepare and manage possession schedules, including contract and managing possession schedules.
  • Ensure possession, isolation, and protection requests are submitted in line with Network Rail planning timescales and format.
  • Plan and coordinate possession and protection arrangements.
  • Monitor and record possession planning changes and highlight any potential issues.
  • Prepare safety-critical documentation in line with railway group standards.
  • Attend or arrange attendance to possession meetings with clients.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities and participate in risk management.
  • Assist in preparing entitlement submissions.
  • Ensure all aspects of safety are considered when planning projects.
  • Maintain close relationships with other planning team members and contribute to the transfer of best practices.
  • Submit road closure requests.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Possession Planner or Safe System of Work (SSOW) Planner in a rail minor works environment.
  • PPS planning access experience.
  • SSOW planning qualification Core Level 2.
  • PTS.
  • Trained and certificated as competent as Controller of Site Safety (COSS).
  • Good understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book and ability to interpret Sectional Appendices, Hazard Directory, and Environmental Assessments.
  • Holder of a full British Driving License.
