Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Possession Planner to join our team at AmcoGiffen. As a key member of our rail engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of possession planners and ensuring the successful delivery of our capital delivery projects and asset management frameworks.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Lead Possession Planner or Access Planner, leading a small team of track access planners in a rail minor works environment. You will be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of possession planners to ensure the successful delivery of projects
  • Liaising with project management teams on access planning matters
  • Working closely with the construction management and estimating team to identify available possessions and optimize working
  • Preparing possession schedules and supporting information
  • Ensuring possession, isolation, and protection requests are submitted in line with Network Rail planning timescales
  • Planning possession and protection arrangements
  • Monitoring and recording possession planning changes
  • Preparing safety-critical documentation in line with railway group standards
  • Attending possession meetings with clients
  • Identifying project risks and opportunities and participating in the management process
  • Assisting in the preparation of entitlement submissions
  • Ensuring safety considerations are taken into account when planning projects
  • Maintaining close relationships with other members of the planning job family and contributing to the transfer of best practice
  • Submitting road closure requests

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Previous experience as a Lead Possession Planner or Access PlannerTeam management experiencePPS planning access experienceSSOW planning qualification Core Level 2PTSTrained and certificated as competent as Controller of Site Safety (COSS)A good understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book and ability to interpret Sectional Appendices, Hazard Directory, and Environmental AssessmentsA full British Driving License
