About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Possession Planner to join our team at AmcoGiffen. As a key member of our rail engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of possession planners and ensuring the smooth execution of access planning for our capital delivery projects and asset management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Planner managing the day-to-day activities of the Scotland Track Access Team (TAP).
  • Liaise with project management teams on all access planning matters.
  • Work closely with the Construction Management and Estimating team to identify available possessions and optimize working to maintain the project programme.
  • Prepare the Master/Contract/Managing possession schedule and supporting information.
  • Ensure possession, isolation, and protection requests are submitted in line with Network Rail planning timescales and relevant format.
  • Plan possession/protection arrangements.
  • Monitor/record/highlight any possession planning changes.
  • Prepare safety-critical documentation in line with railway group standards.
  • Attend or arrange attendance to all possession meetings with the client.
  • Identify project risks/opportunities and participate in the management process.
  • Assist in the preparation of entitlement submissions.
  • Ensure all aspects of safety are taken into consideration when planning a project.
  • Maintain close relationships and liaise with other members of the planning job family, contribute to the transfer of best practice.
  • Submit Road Closure requests.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Lead Possession Planner or Access Planner, leading a small team of track access planners in a rail minor works environment.
  • Team management experience.
  • PPS planning access experience.
  • SSOW planning qualification Core Level 2.
  • PTS.
  • Trained and certificated as competent as Controller of Site Safety (COSS).
  • Good understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book and ability to interpret Sectional Appendices, Hazard Directory, and Environmental Assessments.
  • Holder of a full British Driving License.
