About the Role

Nexgen Group is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead our Grounds activities for one of our largest Social Housing customers in the London and Home Counties area.

As a natural business leader, you will be responsible for leading a delivery team to adopt our company's strategy and maximize profit while emphasizing contract retention.

You will be instrumental in motivating, managing, and training staff to meet and exceed client expectations, as well as building and utilizing effective working relationships with the wider business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective client relationships to ensure the standard of service meets contract specifications, maximizing opportunities for contract retention.
  • Develop and maintain an effective operational team, ensuring compliance with all operational KPIs, reviewing activity on all contracts regularly, and driving innovation and best practice.
  • Undertake the purchase and maintenance of approved equipment and machinery, ensuring all necessary electrical and mechanical testing is up to date.
  • Manage and action client communication, ensuring preventative and remedial actions are taken when necessary.
  • Achieve full contract Profit & Loss (P&L) targets, operating within budgets while developing a process to ensure all potential opportunities to maximize growth are utilized.
  • Attend regular client review meetings to present and feed back on contract performance.
  • Play an active role in recruiting and onboarding new team members, alongside other departments such as Senior Management, HR, Recruitment, Fleet, and Procurement.
  • Support the bid team where required to respond to RFI's/RFP's and attend client presentations when needed.
  • Support the Operations Director where needed to provide reports, costs, proposals, and support for new client mobilizations.
  • Ensure that the JAES, QSHE, Risk, and Business Continuity protocols are adhered to at all times.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience in a client delivery role in Grounds/Garden Maintenance.
  • A successful track record of achieving customer satisfaction, people management, budget control, specification management, health and safety, and compliance.
  • An understanding of management techniques, change management, performance reviews.
  • Team player, collaborative, natural leader, and loyal.
  • Strong commercial acumen, motivational skills, diplomatic but firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, works well under pressure, organized, and motivated.
  • Full Clean Driving License.
  • Willing to partake in a DBS check.
