About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support to pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of patient care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pharmacy services, including clinical trials and aseptic services.
  • Assist with the preparation and dispensing of medications, including the use of automated dispensing systems.
  • Provide patient counseling and education on medication use and management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • NVQ Level 3 / BTEC in pharmacy services or equivalent nationally recognized qualification.
  • Accredited Checking Technician Qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Recent dispensing experience.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Recent hospital dispensing experience (6 months in the last 2 years).
  • Outpatient counseling experience.
  • Clinical ward-based pharmacy and medicines management experience.
  • Experience of aseptic dispensing.
