Job Overview


This position operates at both an operational and strategic level, playing a crucial role in fostering the expansion of our organization.

The primary objective of this role is to oversee proposal management activities through a comprehensive, hands-on approach that includes drafting and writing.

The organization typically seeks opportunities ranging from £1m to £100m, encompassing logistics, data handling, inventory oversight, procurement, and supply chain management across various sectors such as automotive, beverage, defense, healthcare, rail, and utilities.

The proposal coordinator is accountable for producing high-quality submissions that are fully compliant with client specifications and effectively articulate why our organization is the preferred choice.

We are in search of a motivated, organized, and skilled proposal manager/writer to join our business development team. You should be adept at managing every aspect of the complete proposal process.


Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and monitor potential opportunities, communicating findings to the broader team.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to ensure proposals align with the winning strategy for each opportunity.
  • Oversee all phases of the proposal process, responding to Requests for Information (RFI), Expressions of Interest (EOI), Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ), and Invitations to Tender (ITT).
  • Utilize our proposal management process and associated tools to navigate opportunities from inception to completion, ensuring structure and adherence to deadlines.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our processes.
  • Establish relationships with subject matter experts to ensure timely contributions that meet requirements. Write responses utilizing the information provided.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Maintain the proposal content library, updating it with new materials as they are developed.
  • Ensure timely completion of reviews.
  • Coordinate with the commercial team throughout the proposal process to ensure pricing is completed punctually and meets requirements.
  • Employ proposal management skills to create high-quality and persuasive submissions.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
  • Proven experience in successfully managing the proposal process and delivering large-scale, multi-million-pound bids and tenders.
  • Exceptional writing skills to transform input from subject matter experts into a clear, compelling proposition.
  • Project management skills: APM/APMP certification or relevant experience.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and innovative thinking abilities, capable of liaising at all organizational levels.
  • Outstanding writing, IT, and analytical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strategic and innovative mindset.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar capacity.
  • APMP accreditation is preferred.
  • Leadership and self-development capabilities.

  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills.
