Tender Management Specialist for a leading waste management firm

Position Overview

The primary responsibility of this role is to devise strategies and formulate a comprehensive tender plan to ensure that all bids and proposals are executed within stringent timelines.

Key duties include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing tender activities across the organization; distributing tender notification packages and ensuring timely return of necessary documentation from internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring contributions to tender responses, guaranteeing that high-quality information is included in the tender documents, and promptly addressing any quality or integrity concerns.
  • Driving the tender process to a successful conclusion, consistently delivering impactful solutions to enhance the long-term profitability of contracts.
  • Maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the tendering process, ensuring exceptional customer service is upheld.
  • Collaborating proactively with the Contract Manager or Sales lead to ensure they are fully informed and supported for the contract's implementation.
  • Assisting the General Manager in identifying new business prospects, maximizing opportunities to secure tender bids through open procurement.
  • Overseeing the performance of the Bid Writer, providing coaching and constructive feedback while identifying training needs.
  • Ensuring that either the Bid Manager or Bid Writer is present during all site visits with the commercial team.
  • Participating in and contributing to client presentations.
  • Adhering to the Bid/No Bid Process for each opportunity to ensure the company focuses on the most suitable bids.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in bid or tender management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high level of motivation, coupled with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Extensive skills in negotiation, influence, and decision-making.
  • The capability to prioritize tasks and perform well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • The ability to identify opportunities for further business development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to inspire and coach direct reports to realize their full potential.

Compensation Package

Competitive salary range of £50,000 - £55,000

25 days of annual leave
