About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's mental health needs, taking into account their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with the child, their family, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions and therapies to support children and young people's mental health and well-being.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care pathways and protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to child and adolescent mental health.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work across different settings, including community, inpatient, and outpatient services.
