PCB Design Engineer

Renishaw is a leading provider of high-quality metrology instrumentation and control systems. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative products that require support and maintenance of all aspects of design, specifically Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and development.

We are currently seeking a PCB Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves creating and maintaining PCB designs, working with current Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, and collaborating with our in-house manufacturing team. As a PCB Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing high-quality designs for both prototype and production products.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop PCB designs to support new and existing products
  • Create comprehensive design packages including all PCB design data
  • Review design data to ensure production standards are met
  • Collaborate closely with PCB and project design team members
  • Provide placement and routing analysis for design consideration
Key Requirements:
  • HNC Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with high-speed digital design and complex circuits
  • Ability to work within engineering design environments
  • Strong understanding of electronic design documentation
  • Familiarity with PCB fabrication and assembly processes
  • Interest in electronics and detailed PCB design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience with Zuken or Altium EDA tools
  • Knowledge of Product Data Management systems
  • Understanding of electronic circuits and components
  • Familiarity with PCB routing for impedance control and signal integrity
  • Knowledge of EMC requirements for PCB design
  • Ability to work to IPC standards
  • Awareness of the latest design tools and methods
