Renishaw is seeking a skilled PCB Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality PCB designs for our innovative products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PCBs for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronic designers and production engineers, to ensure seamless design-to-manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain PCB design documentation, including schematics, layouts, and fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Review and check design data to ensure production standards are maintained, and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the PCB design team to develop and implement best practices and design standards.
- Provide efficient placement and routing analysis for design consideration, and ensure designs meet performance and reliability requirements.
Requirements
- HNC Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in designing with high-speed digital design, analogue or complex circuits, including fine pitch components (BGA) and high pin count devices.
- Experience working within an engineering design environment, with a strong understanding of electronic design documentation and PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
- Ability to work to predefined time scales and deadlines, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Requirements
- Familiarity with Zuken or Altium EDA tools, and experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Understanding of electronic circuits and components, with knowledge of UL, FCC, and CE certification.
- Knowledge and ability to work to IPC standards, with a strong understanding of design for manufacture and test (DFM, DFT) principles.
- Experience with PCB routing for impedance control, power planes, and signal integrity, as well as EMC requirements for PCB design.
