About the Role

The Development Manager for Community Engagement will play a key role in shaping and delivering the provision of coordinated care for vulnerable people in the London Borough of Hackney. This position will lead the development of multi-agency team working across the health and social care system in City and Hackney within Neighbourhoods.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive support to ensure the management, development, and improvement of Multi Agency Meetings within Neighbourhoods.
  • Lead the development of projects that promote person-centred, proactive integrated working that meets the needs of residents.
  • Manage a team of 4 full-time workers who facilitate the Multi-agency Neighbourhood meetings.
  • Develop an overview of support from Health, Local Authority, and voluntary sector providers within the diverse London Borough of Hackney.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience in project managing in a complex organisation.
  • Ability to design, deliver, and evaluate a range of projects.
  • High level of effective communication and presentation skills with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team leadership skills, able to lead, manage, and motivate staff.
  • High level of problem-solving, planning, and time management skills.
  • Awareness of own competency level and how to seek appropriate help.
  • Highly motivated with ability to work autonomously.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience of audit and service development.
  • Experience of working autonomously within community settings.
  • Leading on service development.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of the voluntary/community sector.
  • Knowledge of relevant National Policies and Procedures.
  • Good understanding of the social model of disability.
  • Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues.
  • Good Project management skills.
  • Good Communication skills, able to explain issues clearly and facilitate discussion.
  • Evidence of very strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Evidence of the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across functions.
