Lead Systems Engineer

Job Overview
This position is hybrid, requiring both remote and on-site work.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior System Engineer:
- Develops comprehensive system designs and specifications, including overall architectures, typologies, configuration databases, and design documentation for networks and networking technologies within the CCCRS hosted services. Defines user/system interfaces, including validation and error correction protocols, processing rules, access, security, and audit controls. Evaluates associated risks and outlines recovery routines and contingency plans. Converts logical designs into physical implementations.
- Performs routine installations and removals of hardware and software components. Ensures that objectives are achieved within established safety and quality standards, including appropriate handover to clients. Conducts hardware and software testing using provided test protocols and diagnostic tools. Resolves malfunctions, collaborating with experienced colleagues and external resources as necessary. Maintains detailed records of all hardware/software items installed and removed.
- Initiates and oversees actions to investigate and resolve issues in systems and services. Aids in the execution of agreed-upon solutions and preventive measures.
- Defines user/system interfaces and translates logical designs into physical configurations, considering target environments, performance criteria, and existing systems. Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methodologies, and tools, including prototyping tools when applicable.
Basic Requirements
Essential qualifications, skills, and attributes of the Senior System Engineer:
- Fundamental understanding of System Level Design
- Fundamental knowledge of VMware and NSX
- Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Server Family, including core servers, high availability clustering, IIS (web hosting), Application Request Routing, and file shares.
- Fundamental understanding of network principles, WAN technologies, routing, and Global Load balancing.
- Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft SQL
- Experience with SIP technologies, including WebRTC.
- Experience in architecting or supporting Azure
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong business/customer interaction experience
- Experience/Desirable with Web Map Services
- Experience/Desirable with REST API interfaces
- Must be eligible for SC AND NPPV3 Clearance.
