About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight to our engineering teams, ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers specializing in power systems, power conversion, automation, control, and mechanical integration to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer, contract, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, advice, and assistance to the overall project team, including commissioning, service, and third-party interactions.
  • Support the Project Manager as required and deputize for them as needed. Plan and progress all design engineering-related activities, including testing and commissioning, for specific projects.
  • Monitor, control, and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management processes, design reviews, and quality and change control systems in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Support improvement initiatives and 'cost out' plans in collaboration with teams from other business units.

Requirements

  • Experience in an engineering leadership environment.
  • Experience in application engineering in one or more fields, including power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid-connected systems, and automation.
  • Experience in specifying components, such as drives, motors, transformers, switchboards, and other electrical equipment.
  • Experience in design and system integration working on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience in any field of power generation, conversion, transmission, and distribution.

Qualifications

A minimum degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a similar degree with suitable industry experience.
