Role Summary
The Generator Project Leader will be a pivotal figure within the Power Conversion Rotating Machines Rugby Engineering Team, tasked with the design and engineering of motors and generators. This role is essential in ensuring that we meet the requirements of our diverse business units, including Industry, Marine, and Naval.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a dedicated team in the design, analysis, and delivery of generator solutions for specialized projects, applying sound engineering principles and adhering to established business standards and practices.
  • Oversee direct management responsibilities, including staffing and performance development, leveraging extensive technical knowledge and analytical skills to execute strategies effectively.
  • Utilize judgment to propose innovative solutions for complex manufacturing processes, drawing on technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Facilitate the collaborative phase of pre-contract technical specifications.
  • Own and define generator specifications and requirements, establishing verification and validation activities for final acceptance.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of product requirements and specifications in the design process.
  • Support the mechanical design team in documenting, evaluating, and analyzing materials to ensure critical design features are captured and verified.
  • Possess experience in Reliability, Maintainability, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in leading mechanical or electrical engineering teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Multi-Megawatt rotating machine products, including their engineering challenges and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, noise and vibration (N&V), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Experience in resource planning and scheduling.
  • Proficient in engineering design processes, tools, and functional safety engineering.
  • Extensive experience with Ansys and Creo 3D CAD modeling software.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (2010+).
  • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and structures.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter PLM systems is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as required.
