Job Description

As a Lead Engineer at GE's Power Conversion business, you will play a critical role in delivering electrification systems that meet the power and energy needs of our customers. You will provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, overseeing each phase of project delivery to ensure the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers specializing in power systems, power conversion, automation, control, and mechanical integration to ensure the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, advice, and assistance to the project team as needed, including commissioning, service, and third-party support.
  • Support the Project Manager as required and deputize for them as needed.
  • Plan and progress all design engineering-related activities, including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
  • Monitor, control, and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management processes, design reviews, and quality and change control systems in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Support improvement initiatives and 'cost out' plans in collaboration with teams from other business units.
Requirements:
  • Experience in an engineering leadership environment.
  • Experience in application engineering in one or more fields, including power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid-connected systems, and automation.
  • Experience in specifying components, including drives, motors, transformers, switchboards.
  • Experience of design and system integration working on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience in any field of power generation, conversion, transmission, and distribution, including LV and MV variable speed drives and motors.
  • Minimum degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar degree with suitable industry experience.
