Position Summary
The Power Systems Modelling Lead at GE Vernova presents a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise and passion in a role that significantly impacts one of the foremost energy technology firms engaged in substantial global initiatives. You will utilize your extensive knowledge and experience to foster the development of technically complex projects while leading and enhancing the Power Systems Modelling team.

Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
  • Oversee and guide the development and execution of power system models and associated modelling tasks for various projects, ensuring adherence to reporting standards while nurturing the growth and proficiency of the modelling team.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver comprehensive power systems solutions, encompassing power generation, distribution, energy storage, protection, power conversion, and automation, ensuring compliance with customer and third-party specifications.
  • Develop and supervise detailed design standards and analyses, including short circuit calculations, load flow studies, protection coordination, and power quality assessments, such as harmonic analysis and EMC considerations.
  • Formulate and manage requirements and functional specifications for systems and their components, including generators, switchboards, transformers, power electronic converters, motors, energy storage systems, and cabling.

Qualifications
We seek a candidate who possesses:
  • A minimum of a degree in electrical engineering or a higher qualification, such as a Master's or PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) with a proven track record of ongoing professional development.
  • Proficiency in software simulation and design tools such as DIgSILENT, PSCAD, eTAP, or MATLAB.
  • Experience in leading engineering teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with grid codes and classification standards, including DNV, ABS, Lloyds for marine applications, and relevant IEC standards (preferred).
