Job Responsibilities:

  • Define requirements and FPGA architectures alongside other hardware and software engineers to develop cutting-edge embedded systems firmware for various electronics used in our power converter systems.
  • Develop and debug firmware for diverse applications like signal processing, data acquisition, and control systems, ensuring efficient and robust FPGA implementations.
  • Conduct verification and validation testing to ensure designs meet performance and reliability requirements, applying best engineering standards and developing design practices to ensure FPGA designs comply with relevant health & safety and international standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop FPGA-based systems, leveraging expertise in VHDL programming languages, digital design concepts, and circuit simulation design tools.
  • Design interface circuits, both analogue and digital circuits, including microprocessor, FPGA, and memory circuits, and develop SOC (system on chip) circuits with a strong appreciation of configuration and software.
  • Utilize PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics, CAD Star, etc., and have a solid understanding of power electronic converter systems and electrical machines.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or significant experience in an electrical design engineering environment.
  • Strong background in FPGA design and Embedded Software design and programming, with proficiency in VHDL programming languages.
  • Ability to translate high-level design requirements into efficient and robust FPGA implementations, with a solid understanding of digital design concepts, including Register Transfer Level (RTL) coding, synthesis, and timing closure.
  • Familiarity with FPGA-based development boards and hardware description languages, as well as experience with circuit simulation design tools and PCB design tools.
  • Prior experience with high-speed digital design, DSP algorithms, or embedded systems, and knowledge of power electronic converter systems and electrical machines.
