Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients with complex needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assess, manage, and treat patients with complex conditions, including those with Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, Stroke, Falls, and Osteoporosis.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote independence and improve quality of life.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide advice on admission avoidance and early supported discharge.
  • Lead and manage a team of occupational therapists to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Physiotherapy or a related field.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Minimum of 4 years' postgraduate experience, including 2 years working as a Band 6 with patients with complex needs.
  • Experience of working within an Acute Inpatient environment or similar system.
  • Advanced Clinical Reasoning Skills, Leadership and Management Skills, and Audit and Research Skills.
Desirable Criteria:
  • Clinical Leadership Experience.
  • Involvement in sickness/disciplinary/capability management.
  • Excellent IT skills and presentation skills.

  • Adaptive to unpredictable workloads.
  • Situational awareness and management of self and others.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Language:
  • Able to speak English as necessary to undertake the role.

Please note that the ability to drive and hold a clean driver's license and car available for work is essential for this role.
