Kensington and Chelsea (K+C) adult mental health service provides a comprehensive array of mental health services for adults across various age groups within the community and hospital settings. These services are integrated health and social care initiatives.
The Mental Health Unit at St Charles Hospital
St Charles Hospital's Mental Health Unit comprises four acute admissions wards serving the Boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster, each with 17 beds (except Danube ward which has 16 beds). Admissions are managed through local Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) and other relevant healthcare providers.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Doctor in Adult Inpatient Psychiatry to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients experiencing mental health challenges within an inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients admitted to the ward, including medical and psychiatric evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide evidence-based clinical interventions, such as psychotherapy, medication management, and crisis intervention.
- Supervise junior doctors and nursing staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Participate actively in ward rounds, case conferences, and other team meetings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Adhere to all relevant clinical guidelines and best practices.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Specialty training in Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of mental health disorders.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
