About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to make a meaningful and valued contribution to the USS Investment Management Limited team as an Actuarial Specialist.

As a key member of the Funding Strategy Team, you will be responsible for providing technical actuarial support to the team, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the work produced with actuarial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Actuarial Manager in managing and overseeing the technical and professional aspects of the work undertaken by the Funding Strategy Team.
  • Develop and maintain systems used by the team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Develop and communicate technical issues to stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
  • Develop and maintain professional responsibilities and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support for the actuarial input to the Scheme's valuation, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Oversee the technical development of the regular reporting of the Financial Management Plan monitoring, including coordinating inputs in respect of covenant and investment.
  • Provide technical support on the actuarial input to support the administration of the Scheme, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Support the Actuarial Manager in providing technical actuarial support to USSIM, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Support the Actuarial Manager in managing the relationship with Moody in relation to the valuation software (PFaroe), ensuring smooth operations and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to managing the working relationship between the Funding Strategy Team and the Scheme Actuary's Team, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Support the Actuarial Manager in developing actuarial materials for the executive and the Board, ensuring clear and concise communication.
About You

We are looking for a qualified Fellow of the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries with experience in managing both technical and professional aspects of actuarial work, with excellent communication skills to facilitate understanding of complex issues.
