We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Credit Director to join our Private Banking team at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing input into transaction structuring, booking, trading and managing credit and market risk related to a global corporate asset financing book.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to growth in the corporate asset financing business for our core and target clients.
- Provide input into decisions on which new loan financing mandates to pursue.
- Provide input into transaction structuring to ensure facilities are within risk tolerance parameters.
- Complete credit write-ups and make recommendations for approval of all facilities in accordance with the bank's standard credit application processes.
- Review legal documentation alongside counsel to ensure documents accurately capture approved deal terms.
- Oversee and provide assistance where necessary to ensure all operational aspects of transactions are working as required to mitigate risk and satisfy client expectations.
- Work closely with the Portfolio Credit team to monitor and manage the credit risk inherent in the book.
- Remain current on industry and economic developments to understand potential impact on loan financing.
- Demonstrate a keen understanding of current and developing regulatory issues, as well as CIBC policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Work in the spirit of transparency and collaboration with our partners in Capital Markets Risk Management, Treasury, Accounting, Tax and Legal.
- Work effectively within CIBC's corporate governance practices and policies to ensure that all potential risks are appropriately addressed and that CIBC legal/reputational issues and shareholder objectives are covered.
- Credit professional with 7+ years of leveraged lending/corporate credit risk adjudication/loan workout experience.
- Familiarity with structured credit/loan warehousing an asset.
This role operates within a normal office environment.
