About the Role

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with learning disabilities in a classroom setting.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-to-one support to students who may be struggling with the curriculum due to their needs. You will work closely with the class teacher to adapt and tailor learning to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring they feel and are successful.

Effective communication is key in this role. You will need to communicate well with staff, colleagues, and parents/carers via email or phone when necessary. A positive attitude and a willingness to join in on class activities are essential qualities for this position.

You will be responsible for using classroom behaviour management skills to help students demonstrate positive behaviour and overcome their barriers to learning. This may involve using a school reward system to encourage positive attitudes and behaviours.

About You

We are looking for a calm and resilient individual who can deal with challenging situations. You will need to be flexible and able to work within the general day-to-day running of the classroom.

Experience of working with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and SEN is highly desirable. A passion and care for children with learning disabilities is essential. You will need to be creative and think outside the box when facilitating learning.
