About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Decision Maker to join our team at the SRA. As an Authorisation Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering our regulatory objectives and ensuring that our processes meet the relevant service levels and key performance indicators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make regulatory decisions on a full range of applications for firms and/or individuals entering the legal services market.
  • Use our CRM system to work with data, ensuring information platforms are efficient and up-to-date.
  • Take ownership of effective resolution of applications, using initiative and workload management skills to prioritise tasks.
  • Support new and existing staff through measures such as allocating work, quality assurance, coaching, and feedback.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Draft written correspondence and documents competently.
  • Interrogate data, showcasing excellent IT skills.
  • Deliver results against service level agreements.

  • Casework experience with a focus on making risk-based decisions in line with regulatory frameworks.
  • Ability to take ownership and ensure effective resolution of applications.
  • Strong initiative and workload management skills, with the ability to prioritise.
  • Ability to support new and existing staff through various measures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Competent user of IT systems.
