Position Overview

Hadrian Health Centre is seeking a dedicated and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to become a vital part of our collaborative and innovative healthcare team.

This role is structured for 30 hours per week, with flexibility for candidates interested in full-time or part-time opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will perform a variety of nursing evaluations and deliver suitable care in partnership with General Practitioners and fellow nursing staff, or autonomously as necessary, adhering to established practice protocols.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will aim to enhance care standards and participate in assessing the needs of the practice population. Management of chronic conditions will be a component of the role, alongside the daily guidance and support of Health Care Assistants and other nursing personnel. Proficiency in managing diabetes and/or respiratory ailments is preferred.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will receive encouragement and support to pursue additional training to facilitate professional growth.

Our team consists of a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including 20 General Practitioners, all supported by a robust multi-disciplinary team. We also serve as a training ground for medical professionals.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Required

  • Registered Nurse: first level on the NMC register.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Experience

Required

  • Experience in a primary care nursing role.
  • Experience conducting long-term condition assessments in accordance with quality frameworks.
  • Experience in performing cervical smears.
  • Experience administering routine immunizations for both children and adults.
  • Experience providing contraceptive services, including pill checks and injections.
  • Experience administering prescribed long-term medications/injections.

Preferred

  • Skills in diabetes management.
  • Skills in asthma and COPD management.
  • Experience in providing travel vaccinations.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and colleagues.

  • Ability to identify and report potential clinical risks.
