About the Role

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estates Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Estates Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our estates services, systems, and budgetary resources.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in estate management, with a focus on maintenance and operations. You will be responsible for managing our facilities, including medical gas pipe systems, pressure systems, water systems, ventilation systems, high and low voltage electrical systems, and asbestos management.

You will also be responsible for managing our FM First PPM and reactive maintenance system to ensure delivery of statutory compliance and effective repairs. Additionally, you will participate in managing and maintaining an operational on-call system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our estates services, systems, and budgetary resources
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and mandatory NHS healthcare standards and guidelines
  • Manage our FM First PPM and reactive maintenance system
  • Participate in managing and maintaining an operational on-call system
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and operations strategies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in estate management, with a focus on maintenance and operations. You will also need to have a degree-level qualification in an appropriate subject, with demonstrable experience of working in a healthcare or industrial/commercial building services environment.

Additionally, you will need to be an Incorporated Engineer member of a registered Engineering or Building Institute, and have a postgraduate qualification in a supplementary discipline (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical or Building).
