About the Role

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Ward Administrator in Haematology Cancer Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our clinical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our wards, and delivering exceptional customer service to our patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to clinical staff, including admitting patients, uploading medical documents, and collecting inpatient notes.
  • Support with patient discharges and provide administrative support to all clinical staff.
  • Responsible for maintaining the reception and ward surroundings, including raising minor repair notifications as needed.
  • Provide cross-cover for other ward administrators during times of leave or heavy workload.

Requirements

  • GCSE level or equivalent, including Grade C or higher in English and Maths.
  • Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act.
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative environment, with knowledge of a comprehensive range of administrative procedures.
  • Excellent customer care, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible and supportive approach to team working.
  • Ability to make decisions in a constantly changing environment, using judgment to deal with queries or escalate where necessary.
