This position is a temporary contract.

Cygnet Hospital Taunton offers acute inpatient admission services for men, along with a specialized inpatient program for men diagnosed with learning disabilities.

Set in a serene rural environment, the hospital is surrounded by expansive fields, providing a peaceful atmosphere that greatly benefits our service users, allowing them to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Your Responsibilities...

  • Assist the wards in generating and completing necessary documentation following Ward Round meetings (e.g., Notice to Accounts, S17 Leave forms, Pre Leave Assessment Forms).
  • Support the wards in maintaining compliance with various clinical dashboards, including notifying when care plans require review.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is submitted to keep the patient database current.
  • Help collect essential data to meet corporate standards.
  • Attend Ward Rounds, take minutes, and prepare and distribute reports.
  • Maintain efficient filing systems and manage service user notes in accordance with Medical Records policies.
  • Liaise internally regarding ward round meetings as necessary.
  • Communicate with external agencies, referrers, other professionals, and family members.
  • Attend and document minutes at meetings as requested.
  • Record all inquiries using appropriate documentation and ensure necessary actions are taken.
  • Provide coverage in the Reception area during breaks and absences, managing the hospital switchboard and performing other related duties as needed.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of patient-related information at all times.

  • Experienced in administrative roles within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Organized, meticulous, and capable of adhering strictly to processes and procedures.
  • Knowledgeable about mental health and patient confidentiality issues.
  • Skilled in data entry, extraction, and analysis using Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
  • An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to quickly resolve issues and perform under pressure without compromising quality.
