Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Casework Officer to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. as a Homelessness Prevention Specialist. This is a 5-month contract, with the possibility of extension, and requires the ability to work closely with a Local Authority in Tower Hamlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Homelessness Prevention: Utilize a dedicated assessment tool to determine the most suitable form of supported accommodation for single clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Contribute to the development and delivery of team plans and other relevant council plans and strategies to ensure targets and performance requirements are met.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate the Council's duties and policies to customers and partner organizations directly in writing and through customer information.
  • Customer Care: Provide detailed customer care letters to clients outlining advice given and the agreed housing pathway where homelessness cannot be prevented.
  • Decision-Making: Write s184 decision letters.

Requirements:

  • Homelessness Prevention Expertise: The ability to deliver homelessness prevention and housing option solutions tailored to diverse communities and differing customer needs.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent IT skills, with the ability to use a range of databases and MS Word and Excel to produce a wide range of letters and documents, and MS Outlook to process email and diary functions.

  • Availability to work immediately or at short notice is required.
  • The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK.
  • A basic DBS is required for this role.
