About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Casework Manager to join our team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. As a key member of our regional office, you will play a vital role in providing specialist administrative and single point of contact support to our branch-based volunteers.
As a Regional Casework Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteer branch-based casework managers. You will also provide support to our casework administrators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients.
To ensure a consistent, timely, and quality service is provided to our beneficiaries, you will work closely with our Regional Operations Manager and the regional office team. You will influence the processes and procedures within the new regional office, working in a close team environment.
The post is home-based, but you may be required to travel occasionally around the South West of England Region, which includes the counties of Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Cornwall, and Somerset.
About the Team
Our regional office is a virtual office that supports the eight SSAFA branches in the South West of England region. As a Regional Casework Manager, you will work as part of a larger support team, which includes 7 Regional Casework Coordinators and a Regional Operations Manager. All team members are home-based, residing in the region.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, and managing and reporting on service delivery. You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, achieving results through negotiation and influence. Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset.
You will have used Microsoft Office to a high standard and be capable of quickly learning a computerised case management system. The successful candidate will have experience of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous to have an understanding of the way of life for today's Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector, and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the South West of England, would be valuable.
