SEN Casework Officer - Normanton

4Recruitment Services is seeking a highly skilled SEN Casework Officer to join a team based in Normanton.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced SEN Casework Officer to manage a caseload of Children with Education Health and Care Plans, ensuring that all statutory requirements are met. The successful candidate will work closely with schools and other providers to ensure compliance with expectations and obligations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of Children with Education Health and Care Plans, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
  • Work with schools and other providers to ensure compliance with expectations and obligations.
  • Provide information to schools and other services about provision made for individual children.
  • Write Education Health and Care Plans and make amendments as needed.
  • Undertake casework relating to new requests for statutory assessment.
  • Refer to SEN Officers and Administration Officers and ensure all processes are completed within statutory timescales.
  • Deal with parental concerns and representations, providing general advice and guidance about SEN related matters.
  • Meet with parents as required.
  • Attend pupils annual review meetings and establish whether changes are required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a BTEC Level 3 in SEN Casework or proven experience in a similar field.
  • Must be able to commute.
  • Extensive experience of working in the area of SEN, or substantial experience in a relevant area.
  • Experience of assessment used in schools by teaching staff and other professionals.
  • Child Protection Training, including the Common Assessment Framework.
  • Knowledge of SEN Legislation and Statutory procedures and current education legislation.
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service.
