About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Regional Casework Manager to join our team at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. As a key member of our regional office, you will play a vital role in supporting our volunteer-based casework team, ensuring a consistent, timely, and quality service is provided to our beneficiaries.
As a Regional Casework Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteer branch-based casework managers, influencing processes and procedures within the regional office, and working closely with the Regional Operations Manager. You will also provide support to the casework administrators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a group of Regional Casework Coordinators to provide specialist administrative and single point of contact support to SSAFA branch-based volunteers.
- Developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with volunteer branch-based casework managers.
- Influencing processes and procedures within the regional office.
- Providing support to the casework administrators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients.
About the Team
You will be part of a larger support team, working closely with 7 Regional Casework Coordinators and a Regional Operations Manager. All team members are home-based, residing in the region. We are a close-knit team, working together to provide a high-quality service to our beneficiaries.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, and managing and reporting on service delivery. You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, achieving results through negotiation and influence, and using Microsoft Office to a high standard. Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset. You will have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
We are looking for someone who is committed to SSAFA's values, including equality, diversity, and inclusion. An understanding of the way of life for today's Armed Forces, veterans, and their families would be valuable. Experience of the voluntary sector, and preferably the military charity sector landscape across the South West of England, would also be beneficial.
