Security Operations Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Operations Manager to join our Commercial team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- To deliver a range of security services required to meet and exceed the requirements and add value to the management and delivery of operational services. Adhere to and strive to perform to set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead by example for the team to understand what is expected of them on shift.
- To enhance the relationship with retailers and ensure the appropriate and timely response to all security issues and events.
- Ensure that landlord areas are protected in compliance with Health and Safety and Fire Safety regulations.
- Ensure that contractors are working on site with correct permits and following site protocol.
- Oversee the security team and ensure all staff are meeting their roles and responsibilities.
- Manage staff attendance and absence records in accordance with company policies.
- Oversee staff training, performance, disciplinary, and other operational aspects, including covering blowouts.
- To ensure compliance with all statutory and relevant company policies.
- Management of team efficiency, including training, absence reporting, and other operational documentation, which forms part of the Security Operation.
- Maintenance of all records and logs, such as patrol logs, CCTV checks, etc.
- Reporting of incidents and training security team personnel on how these reports should be recorded and escalated.
- Coordination of appropriate responses to emergencies and incidents.
- Monitoring team performance and reviewing these with the Centre Manager. This includes documenting team issues, problems, and noting conversations had.
- Monitoring access control and CCTV.
- Must be proactive and bring suggestions for improvements to the Centre Manager for the wider benefit of the Security Operation.
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to manage conflicts within the team and nurture relationships to get the best performance out of the team.
- Good technical knowledge as well as the ability to multi-task.
- Be able to work under pressure while keeping calm and in control, whether it is with incident management or when dealing with team members.
- Conducting daily audits to ensure a safe and secure environment is maintained throughout the site.
- Developing security staff, including training and customer service training.
- Ensuring all assignment instructions and risk assessments are up to date.
- Delivering excellent communication and motivation to all staff.
- Carrying out monthly one-to-one meetings, addressing and documenting concerns for performance and focusing on training needs for the team member.
- Dealing with team member performance issues against KPIs.
- Ensure spot checks are carried out for the team to ensure there are no gaps in the operations and dealing with any issues head-on.
- Ensure Site fire Evacuation processes are completed in a timely manner.
- Duty management required in the absence of the Centre Manager – to have an overarching operational view of the Centre as a whole.
Control Room:
- Ensure the Control Room has the right information at hand for anyone covering the control room. This includes logins for various systems, crucial operational information that should be available at all times for those in control.
- Manage the lost property and maintain a log.
- Emergency protocols should be clearly marked and displayed.
- Manage the training for all team members and ensure these are all up to date.
- Check DOB for missing data or patrols.
- Check all incidents are logged and incident reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure Fire Alarm compliance checks are in order.
- Ensure weekly tasks are completed in a timely manner, which includes, sprinkler room test, first aid kit checks, vacant unit checks, Fire Extinguisher checks, and all other tasks requested by Centre Management.
- Ensure the control room is free of all clutter and organized.
- Ensure monthly paperwork is filed away correctly.
- Report any technical and system faults in a timely manner.
- Please note that this list is long but not exhaustive.
Floor Duties:
- Floor duties are also part of the Security/Supervisor role.
- Ensure floor patrols are completed properly by the team.
- The team must focus on the landlord areas and must ensure they are working to protect life and property for the Landlord.
Service Yard and Car Park:
- Ensure that the Centre Car Park is kept clear of obstruction and ensure that it is maintained and clean.
Compliance:
- Ensure all compliance is in order for the Security team. This includes everything in relation to Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and anything requested by Centre Management.
